先日、OpenAI DALL-E 2で作成されたCG画像を見ました。人間が打ち込んだテキストをもとに、AIが写真のような画像を生成するというものです。近い将来、本物とAIが生成したものの見分けがつかなくなるでしょう。ウェブサイトで使われているストックフォトも、数年後にはほとんどがコンピュータで生成されたものになるのではないでしょうか。
今回、DALL-E miniというオープンソースのAIプロジェクトを使ってみました。DALL-E 2には劣りますが、どんな画像が作れるか試してみるのはとても面白かったです。壁画、浮世絵など、色んなスタイルのアートを模倣するのが得意だということも実証できました。中でも特に良くできた画像をみなさんとシェアしますね！
I recently saw computer generated images created by OpenAI DALL·E 2 for the first time. Many of the images look like photographs, but they were created by an AI system based on user-provided text. Soon, it will be hard to tell what is a photograph of a real event and what was generated by a computer. Most stock photographs used online will probably be computer generated in a few years.
I tried out an open source AI project called DALL·E mini. The output is not as good as DALL·E 2, but it is still interesting to see what it can do. It is very good at mimicking different art styles. Below are some of the more interesting images that I was able to generate.

使用した技術
今回試したのは、dalle-miniとdalle-playgroundです。dalle-playgroundプロジェクトは、AI研究プラットフォームであるGoogle Colabで簡単に（無料で！）動かすことができます。
両プロジェクトを自分のPCで動かしてみました。NVIDIA 1050ti GPUを使用した場合、1枚の画像を生成するのに約12秒かかりました。GPUを使用しない場合は約10分かかりました。
I tried out dalle-mini and dalle-playground. The dalle-playground project is easy to get going (for free!) on Google Colab, an AI research platform.
I also ran both projects on my PC. Using an NVIDIA 1050ti GPU, it took about 12 seconds to generate an image. Without the GPU, a single image took about 10 minutes to create!
